🛠️ Installation & Setup Guide for our Kadence WP Child Themes

Welcome to Superfly Web Designs! Follow these simple steps to install your Superfly Child Theme for Kadence WP (a WordPress website).

Before You Start:
This theme requires the following FREE Kadence WP items to function properly. The directions below will show you how to import them and activate them. It’s so easy! Let’s get started! Wohoo!

STEP ONE

🚀 Step 1: Install the Required FREE Kadence Theme & Plugins

1️⃣ Log into your WordPress dashboard.

2️⃣ Install the Kadence Theme:
Go to Appearance → Themes and click Add New.
Search for Kadence, then click Install. (No need to activate it. Also note, the video is a no-sound, visual cursor demonstration.)

3️⃣ Install the Required Plugins:
Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and search for:

✅ Kadence Starter Templates – Click Install.
✅ Kadence Blocks – Click Install.

After installation, go to Plugins and click the activate link for both of them. (Also note, this video is a no-sound, visual cursor demonstration.)

STEP TWO

📥 Upload & Activate the Child Theme

4️⃣ Go to Appearance → Themes, then click the Upload Theme button.

5️⃣ Upload the theme file:

  • Locate the superfly-theme_name.zip file on your device (this was emailed to you).
  • Click Install Now, then Activate the theme using the license key that was in the same email. If you can’t find it, search your emails for “Freemius” or you can find it on your Freemius account at https://users.freemius.com/store/7716.

STEP THREE

📥 IMPORT CHILD THEME CONTENT

6️⃣ Go to Kadence → Starter Templates in the left menu.

7️⃣ Find the theme by Superfly Web Designs and click to install it.

8️⃣ Follow the on-screen prompts to import the demo content and settings.

  • This process can take a few minutes—do not refresh the page or press any buttons.

📥 UPDATE PERMALINKS

1️⃣ Go to Settings-Permalinks.

2️⃣ Select the Post name Permalink structure with …/sample-post at the end.

3️⃣ Press SAVE at the bottom of the page. (This is very important).

4️⃣ Now you can to to your website and refresh and all of the links should work. If not, delete your browser cache or open private window in your browser to check again.

CONGRATULATIONS! You have installed your beautiful & powerful new website!

Here are the recommended server settings for easiest upload. I would only check them if you have a super slow import and things don’t load properly.

✅ PHP memory limit: 512MB
✅ Max post size: 50MB or higher
✅ WP memory limit: 128MB or 256MB
✅ Max upload size: 50MB
✅ Max input vars: 2500
✅ Max execution time: 300
